Project Logistics involve industrial projects such as construction, facility relocations, factory set up, equipment supply chain but also include military logistics, Oil & Gas, Energy units and plant set ups, warehousing and distribution centers and finally any and all project-based supply chain operations across all industries.

The most common perception about project cargo which is its defining characteristic is the size and weight that may far exceed the industrial standards of TEU measurements. In other words, this cargo is most likely OOG Out Of Gauge also referred to as oversized and OW Over weight.

For the transportation of such cargo units special equipment are utilized. These special equipment take the forms of Lifting equipment (such as cranes), Trucks with low bed trailers, light chassis additional axels, trolleys, etc. and require the tailor-made construction of support equipment i.e. tarps, wooden bases, cradles, supports etc. and any other mediums to allow the safe transportation of this cargo.

Additionally, for sea transport, special barges may be required, Mafi for Ro/Ro vessels, break bulk vessels, geared vessels, etc. and for Air transport, the use of Cargo planes and Chartered aircrafts.

Project Cargo required experienced supply chain planners, with knowledge and ability to conduct road surveys, port, and airport surveys to plan a successful and cost-effective operation that is concluded with a detailed report.
